The Department of Elder and Human Services is located 500 Pleasant Street, Canton, MA 02021, 781-828-1323
DEHS has three components:

The Human Services Department assists any Canton Residents 18 years or older who need social services interventions.
DEHS is responsible for meeting the needs of any Canton resident, 60 years old and over, through outreach programs and services designed to help maintain independence within the community.
The Senior Center is where educational programs, health clinics, social events, and activities occur.

HESSCO collaborates with physicians, hospitals, Councils on Aging, Visiting Nurse Associations, home health providers, transportation vendors and other service agencies to optimize available services and benefits to ensure the best possible outcome for you.
Housing resources for older adults in Massachusetts
This guide covers housing resources that are relevant for seniors (aged 60+) in Massachusetts, including understanding tenants' rights, getting help with housing costs, and finding assisted living and affordable housing.
Medicare
Health insurance for eligible U.S. residents 65 years of age and older, and some younger individuals with disabilities. Medicare is divided into four main parts. Medicare.gov for more info. Medicare Part A is usually free. It covers many (but not all) costs associated with hospitalization. Medicare Part B has a monthly premium and covers many (but not all) costs associated with outpatient medical care. Together, Part A and Part B are referred to as Traditional Medicare.
SAGE
SAGE leads in addressing issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning and other self-identifying members of the community (LGBTQ+) aging. In partnership with its constituents and allies, SAGE works to achieve a high quality of life for LGBTQ+ older people, supports and advocates for their rights, fosters a greater understanding of aging in all communities, and promotes positive images of LGBTQ+ life in later years.
SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Everyone)
SHINE Counselors provide information, counseling, and assistance regarding health insurance and benefits for seniors. This free program is available to older adults, their families or caregivers, and. Medicare beneficiaries of all ages.

Memory Cafe

The Memory Cafe provides a safe and supportive gathering place for friends with varying levels of memory loss to relax and enjoy conversation with their care partners and family over refreshments and entertainment.

Meets at the Canton Public Library, 786 Washington Street, on the 4th Thursday of every month from 1:30-3:00pm.
